At Miami Jr. NBA, coaching is about teaching first.
We believe great youth coaches:

Winning matters—but development, sportsmanship, and structure come first.
All coaches must:
Be approved by league administration
Attend required coaches meetings
Follow all league rules and policies
Complete any required background checks (if applicable)
The league reserves the right to approve or remove coaches at its discretion.
Coaches are expected to:
Lead at least one practice per week
Attend all scheduled games
Teach league-approved rules and systems
Communicate clearly with players and parents

Ensure players receive fair instruction and meaningful playing time
Practices should focus on:
Fundamentals (dribbling, passing, shooting, defense)
Game awareness and spacing
Team concepts and communication
Positive reinforcement and correction
Coaches should maintain a structured, organized practice environment at all times.
Miami Jr. NBA is a development-focused league.
All players must receive meaningful playing time
Playing time may vary based on attendance, effort, and attitude
Coaches must avoid favoritism or benching as punishment
On game day, coaches must:
Set the example for players and parents
Communicate respectfully with referees
Control their bench and sideline
Address concerns with league staff—not officials
Arguing with referees or encouraging sideline coaching is not permitted.

Email and text messaging should be limited to emergencies only.
Coaches should:
Maintain professional boundaries
Address concerns respectfully and privately
Refer unresolved issues to league administration
Coaches are not responsible for enforcing parent behavior—that is handled by league staff.
Coaches must:
Act professionally at all times
Refrain from abusive language or behavior
Follow all league rules and policies
Respect players, parents, officials, and staff
Violations may result in disciplinary action or removal from the league.
The league provides:
